KAI User Guide & Interface Updates
Use KAI (Kleene AI) to support Kleene platform and data engineering workflows with updated chat controls, interface behaviour, and interaction guidance.
Overview
KAI (Kleene AI) is an integrated intelligence assistant designed to streamline your workflow within the Kleene platform. Based on recent user feedback and iterative improvements, the interface and interaction model have been updated to provide a more professional and efficient experience.
Key features and interaction improvements
⌨️ Keyboard shortcuts
- Multi-line input: Use
Shift + Enterto move to a new line within the text field, allowing for more complex prompts without accidentally sending the message. - Continuous flow: The text input field remains selected after sending a prompt, so you can continue typing without needing to re-click the box.
💬 Enhanced chat interface
- Visual scanning: User and AI icons are positioned on opposite sides of the chat window, making it easier to scan through conversation history.
- Docking: KAI is docked to the right side of the interface so it does not obstruct your primary workspace.
- Improved scrolling: The chat no longer pulls down during message generation, giving you better control when reviewing previous responses.
🛠 Functional updates
- ELT focus: KAI is optimized for ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) workflows, aligning with Kleene’s core architecture.
- Copy to clipboard: Code snippets generated by KAI include a Copy button. Visual feedback for successful copying is currently being tracked as a separate enhancement in FT-2409.
- Professional tone: The assistant uses gender-neutral language and a professional tone tailored for technical data engineering tasks.
Important notes
- Verification: While KAI is highly capable, always verify critical information or generated code before implementation.
- Session history: KAI does not currently store long-term conversation history across different sessions.
- General queries: KAI is specialized for Kleene platform tasks and data engineering. It is not intended for general-purpose queries, such as weather or general news.
